A late Christmas posting!

Hi to all!! I hope each one of my friends is doing good, and that you had a wonderful Christmas day yesterday. I meant to post on Christmas eve, but I didn't succeed!!! Sigh!!

As you may have noticed, I had to take a little break from cardmaking. I have changed Home, and started a new work, which is quite demanding, is lovely and I have to give it most of my time. But I am happy the Lord is giving me this occasion of serving Him, so even though I don't find the time to create often, but I'm happy I am doing something for Him to loves me! :) But I have truly missed cardmaking,Blogging and hearing from each of you!!

Well, I have three cards to show you today, cards I have done for occasions that required a card with a message.. including a Christmas card. I had in mind to do a lot of Christmas cards, but well.. plans...!!!

I'm lucky to have managed to send the most important cards some weeks ago, and thank God that had arrived in time :)

On these cards I have used Our Daily Bread Designs Stamps. I hope you like them. I coloured each one of them with Copics, and Glitter Glue is a must on my cards it seems :)

Oh.. I just realised that the star charm that is dangling from behind the ribbon bow has stuck with the double sided tape when I put it up for the photo! lol

Challenges I will enter this card into:
Copic Creations: Sparkle (all three cards are coloured in Copics and have added sparkle)
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Creative Belli: Christmas
A Spoon full of Sugar: Christmas card

Have a wonderful Christmas Season my friends. I hope that I will be back more often now. IF I don't manage to be back before the New Year.. Let me send you Cyber Hugs my friends, and thank you for being a God-diven gift to me during this past year. I am truly Blessed with having you part of my lovely life! God bless you and your families!

I carried you on Eagle's Wings

Thank you for swinging by my Blog today, and thank you for blessing me with your presence.

I have not written on this Blog in a while. The reason is that I had to move in another Home, and every change brings a lot of challenges in anyone's life.

Mine was not any different. I felt challenged to leave my "safe place" (because every place we live in for quite some time feels safe to each of us). So moving to another Community means learning to share your life with new people, learning to accept them, love them, forgive them and share your joys and sorrows.
It also means you have to adapt yourself and your character to new sorroundings, a new environment, a new timetable. So you see, we ARE challenged by changes.
But thank God for His everlasting promises. What would I do without Him in my life? This is the Promise I am trying to keep in my mind in this challenging moment:

How can I refuse to trust a Loving God, that carries me on Eagle's Wings, and Bring me to Himself? So therefore, as He promised to renew my Strength (my inner strength at this particular time, my Faith and Trust in Him), I let go of my Ego and my "safe places" and walk in Faith wherever He shows me to go.

Papers I used on this card: Capella paper, Basic Grey
Tools: Nellie Snellen Frames Dies, MS Doily Lace punch
Black Soot Distress ink to distress flowers, Glimmer mists on flowers
Embellishments from stash

I will enter this card for Creative Inspirations Challenge. They have a sketch as a challenge, and when I saw it I had just finished the card. Curiously enough I realized it looked like my card, and I had not followed any sketch to build it. They only have the centre shape different from mine (they used a circle). So there it goes! :)

I hope you like my creation. I used the lovely ODBD set On Eagles' Wings to create it. I just love the few sets I have from ODB!

Have a wonderful rest of the week, and remember to let God renew your Strength everyday! He will lift you up to Him in Spirit and in Truth. Trust my word, but better.. TRUST HIS!

Sketch Saturday + CCThursday+ Crafty Katz+ Fab 'n 'F challenges

Happy Friday my dear blogging friends. I hope your week has been a marvelllous one till now, and hopefully you'll have a lovely weekend as well :)

I have a card to share with you today, a card I finished very recently, and that I made for a special person. I used Our Daily Bread Design Stamps, and I coloured the door image with Copics.

When I finished the colouring I used Baby blue stickles on some points, and I used a needle to highlight the door hinges and knocker with Crystal Lacquer, for some dimension.

Hopefully you see the Lacquer on the hinges here.

The papers I used were lying in my 8x8 folder, and I thought the door will look great with some blue and grey tones around. To embellish the card, I used some Prima and Papermania flowers, and some Basic Grey brads for a nice touch. The ribbon and lace are from my stash. Leaves are done with a Martha Stewart punch. On the flowers I used Stardust Stickles, which can be found here.

The inside view.

I hope you like my card, and you let me know what you think. Thank you for visiting me today, I am very grateful and thankful. Have a wonderful weekend, and I hope you come and visit me again.

Challenges for this card:

Sketch Saturday: Sketch used
Cute Card Thursday: Someone Special
Crafty Kaz: Petals and Pearls
Fab 'n Funky: Metal Mania (brads)

With Wings as Eagles

Hello everyone! And happy Thursday to each and everyone one of you!! I hope you're having the best of the week, and that you're all keeping well.

Today I have a card for these two lovely challenges: I have used the sketch done by lovely Jacque, on Friday's Sketchers, and I used the pink and green combo from Totally Gorjuss.

I made this special card for a special person, and I do hope she'll like it :) I used Sultry papers from Basic Grey, and Coredinations cardstock. I also used flowers from my stash (but the large rose was sent to me by my lovely friend Jacque. I distressed its edges with Peeled Paint Distress ink, and gave her a Pearl Glimmer Mist treatment).

This is a close up of my eagle.. coloured with Copics.

As you can see, I also used Gold Stickles, and brown colooured square brads, and light pink half pearls. I stamped both the Scripture verse and the eagle, from ODB stamps, with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink, I like the soft effect.
I hope you like it, and that you have the best rest of the week!

Smiles!!

Easter Blessings

Hello to all!

I hope that you had a lovely Palm Sunday, such a Blessed Sunday that opens a whole week of reflections and many opportunities to reflect and bless God for sending His only Son to save us; and showing us what Love is.

Today I would like to share with you an Easter card I have done with CRAFT challenge, and a Challenge Eileen launched on her blog, and the Easter themed ODBD challenge. There are some other Easter related challenges, so I'll make the list at the end of this post.

Eileen wanted an Easter card with no "cute images", and she asked for a stamped and coloured image. Mine is a "Whiff of Joy" image, part of the set released this year called "Birdie Love". The sentiment is ODBD, part of "The Cross of Christ" set.

I coloured the image with Copics, and distressed around the image with Dried Marigold and Spiced Marmalade Distressed inks. Then I cut the image with labels one dies and matted on a piece od DP from my left overs folder. After that I matted on a piece of orange CS and pieces of white CS punched with MS Doily lace punch. Finally I filled the corners with Magnolia flowers and half pearls around the frame.

This is how I decorated the insides. Flowers from my stash, and the letters spelling Grace as well. Finally I added a cross charm (cutting off the loop on top) Basic Grey Rhinestones and some faux stitching for added interest.

Copics:

G0000, 21, 82, 99
Y0000, 06, 23, YR24, YR16, YR18

Take care, and I hope each and every one of you has a Holy week and that you are receptive to God's graces upon you and your familes.

He is waiting .. Something to ponder

This is an excerpt of a Max Lucado book : The Applause of Heaven. Max is one of my favourite authors, and I wanted to share it with you. Max's desciptions are amazing, you feel like you are participating in Jesus's life yourself.

Enjoy!

He is waiting in the Midst of the Storm

Peter knows he is in trouble.
The wind roars down onto the Sea of Galilee like a hawk on a rat.
Lightning zigzags across the black sky. The clouds vibrate with thunder.

The rain taps, then pops, then slaps against the deck of the boat until everyone aboard is soaked and shaking. Ten-foot waves pick them up and slam them down again with bone-jarring force.

These drenched men don't look like a team of apostles who are only a decade away from changing the world, and you can be sure of one thing. The one with the widest eyes is the one with the biggest biceps- Peter. He has seen these storms before. He has seen the wreckage and bloated bodies float to shore. He knows what the fury of wind and wave can do. And he knows that times like this are not times to make a name for yourself; they're times to get some help.
That is why, when he sees Jesus walking on the water toward the boat, he is the first one to say, "Lord, if it's you... tell me to come to you on water" (Matthew 14:28)
He is aware of two facts: He's going down, and Jesus is staying up. And it doesn't take him too long to decide where he would rather be.

Perhaps a better interpretation of his request would be, "Jesus... If that's you, then get me out of here!"
"Come on" is the invitation.
And Peter doesn't have to be told twice.
It's not everyday that you walk on water through waves that are taller than you are. But when faced with the alternative of sure death or possible life, Peter knows which one he wants.
The first few steps go well.

But a few strides out onto the water, and he forgets to look to the One who got him there in the first place, and down he plunges.
Peter's response may lack class- but it gets him out of some deep water: "Help me!"
And since Peter would rather swallow pride then water, a hand comes through the rain and pulls him up.
The message is clear.
As long as Jesus is one of many options, he is no option. As long as you can carry your burdens alone, you don't need a burden bearer. As long as your situation brings you no grief, you will receive no comfort. And as long as you can take him or leave him, you might as well leave him; because he won't be taken half- heartedly.
But when you mourn, when you get to the point of sorrow for your sins, when you admit that you have no other option but to cast all your cares on him, and when there is truly no other name that you can call, then cast your cares on Him, for He is waiting in the midst of the storm.

Mojo Monday & Stampin' Sisters in Christ Challenge 28- Col.3: 17

This is my first time participating in this SSC wonderful challenge. This week I decided to use a sentiment from " Ask,Seek and Knock" ODBD set. As for my sketch, I used this week Mojo Monday's 128 Challenge sketch; I really lked it, and could see the card in my mind.

First I distressed the main DP with Broken China Distress Ink, and also the sentiment, which I cut with Large Circle nesties. Then I die cut the second sentiment matt with Labels 1; and used a piercing tool around the sentiment for some interest. I also decorated the edges with Crystal Stickles for some shine. I used my sewing machine to sew around the main DP.

The DP I used was a generous gift from a friend, and I forgot the name. The large flourish is a rub on I had for quite a long time, and I could see it fitted with the sketch. Finally I embellishd with a gorgeous flower, ribbon and a blue pearly brad, and some dewdrops.

Thank you for the lovely challenge. I prayed and thanked God for all the gifts He bestowed on me, and on those who make and take part in these challenges. I do so hope that anyone who visits my blog, glorifies God with me, for He is worthy of Glory, Power and Praise.

Blessings and Smiles!

A Dangling Card - Something "out of the Box"

Hello my lovely friends and sisters (or brothers) in Jesus Christ. Last week I participated for the first time in ODBD challenges, I've been wanting to do so for about two years, but I didn't have stamps to do so. Now that my Community bought me some with so much Love, I participated immediately :) I loved the challenge, and was utterly surprised and overjoyed last Sunday, when I found out I had won the "Shining the Light Award". It was amazing! Thank you girls :) You put a Biiig Smile on my Face.

Now for some weeks I've been wanting to do something that is not the usual square card.. and now I've found the opportunity bcause there are some challenges this week that want to see "not square/rectangle cards".

Of course, first of all is the challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs. And what lovely new releases there are this month! Awesome stamps girls!!

Then there is Cupcake Crafts with the theme: Round and Round.. and last, but not least the lovely Daring Cardmakers challenge with the lovely challenge: Here comes the sun. These want to see creations with orange/ red/ yellows... anything that says sunshine to us :)

So with all this in mind, I decided to do a dangling round Easter card, using again The Cross of Christ stamp set. I want to be prepared for Easter :) It will soon be here.

I used my Spellbinders Lrge Circle and Lrge Scalloped sets, and Basic Grey Marrakech papers. After I mounted the circles, I embelllished with green half pearls, some Prima orange roses, a small silver coloured cross charm (after which I cut the loop from where it is usually hooked), and some rhinestone stickers. Last, I added some faux stitches.

The small cross on the inside is stamped with Peeled Paint Distress Inks, and while it was still wet, I sweeped out the colour outwards to look as if the cross is giving out that peaceful green light. I also sweeped some peeled paint on the "Blessings" sentiment. Do you like it?

I would like to know what you think of it.. I'd love to discover some lovely new friends that glorify our God through their creations...and as for today, God bless you for taking the time to visit.. I'll leave you with this lovely video to help you think of Him, and what He did for you and me.. at this Holy time.

Blessed be God.

"Be still and know that I am God."

Lord, Your words lead us to the
calmness and greatness of your presence.

You are here.. with us ..every moment.. whether we are light or heavy burdened. Even in the Storm, you are present, protecting us, leading us, carrying us.. like a lamb that needs love, protection, guidance.. I need your Love Lord. But then you leave me free to choose if I want you or not.. What will I choose?

Lord, may I never take the gift
of freedom for granted. You gave
me the great blessing of freedom of
spirit. Fill my spirit with Your peace and
Your joy.

Matthew 7:7-12

Jesus said to the crowds, "Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened. Is there anyone among you who, if your child asks for bread, will give a stone? Or if the child asks for a fish, will give a snake? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Yes, I trust in you Lord. You always gave me the best for me, not what I want.. but what is best for me, for my Soul.. because you are a Loving Father. I trust you and wnat you in my life. Come Lord Jesus... Come!

"A man can no more diminish God's glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, 'darkness' on the walls of his cell."

Easter Blessings- ODBDSLC3

Hi! I'm Rosette, and I decided to start a second Blog, a different one from my Cute card and crafts Blog. Once in a while, I used to create Spiritual Cards and blog about them on my Blog. Other times I posted a reflection or prayer, but not so very often. Unfortunately I always felt that they weren't really appreciated there, so I decided to make a new, seperate Blog for them and for sharing thoughts, videos with a message, a prayer once in a while, and cards that help people glorify the Lord.. our Wonderful Saviour. I hope that once in a while you'll pop in here, and share with me this journey of Faith, Hope and Love. I decided to name this Blog "I do not live by Bread alone".. because it's entirely true. My Daily Bread is Jesus more than anything else, and while I dedicated my whole life to Him, I'd like also to help others "taste and see that the Lord is Good".

Now, after this brief introduction as my first post here, I'd like to share with you a card I made for Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge: A Secret Admirer.

It's the first time I'm using ODBD stamps, so please bear with me :) I found this awesome ODBD challenge Blog, and wanted to participate as well.I cased Becca Feeken's card, which can be found here.

As for papers I used Papermania Jesse Edwards ans Nostalgia Warm.
Stamps: The Cross of Christ (ODBD), Grunge Stamps Stempelglede
Distress Ink: Pine Needles
Tools: Spellbinders Flourishes and Labels, Marta Stewars punches (leaves punch and Doily lace), Fiskars punch for the corners.

A close up of the Distressing around the panel.

I hope you'll let me know you've been here, as you can see my Blog is still a Works in Progress. I will add content, list of blogs and Challenges when I will know more about them. I need your encouragment and suggestions in the progress :) If you would like to see my other Blog, you will find it here . There is also a tab on my sidebar which will take you there as well.

Many Blessings, and Smiles!!

Rosette
